| In my build thread, a few have commented about my willingness to build everything for my car. so, figured i'd post up a thread, to show off both what i have/will build as well as to see what everyone else is building as well. Make it yourself, car related or otherwise, show it off!. have any questions fab related, i'll do my best to answer them. i don't claim to be an expert, but am well versed i think. I am no master myself, but am never afraid to try to try something new. New skills are never a bad thing, and go in with the mentality of if i screw it up, i can still buy what i need and am only out my time. So, here are a few things. I have tons of pics of past projects, and will try to post up a few every once in a while and post new ones as i build them. any request for what you guys want to see, i may have built it already. 95% of what i have done and am posting is just for my uses, for fun more or less. to start, some office products. a few Tape dispensers i have built and given away as gifts over the years | |

"Mjolnir" Thor's hammer deadblow for another forums white elephant gift exchange a few belt buckles. | last post for a while. running out of things to post that i have pics of. Most of this will be Work related. few whole pics, only pieces due to privacy agreements and such. Side job first. I do fab on the side, mainly offroad related stuff. Roll cages, rock sliders, bumpers, axle trusses and such, but really do most anything metal or automotive related. simple, no bending required Stand alone swing. had to get creative to weld it all up by myself Now, onto the Day job. Made a simple wire straightener to help straighten MIG wire for use in TIG welding thinner gauge material. an older pic of one of my very first TIG welding jobs. a stainless Yarn cart to put skeins of yarn in a drying oven Next, a much more recent pic of another project. Fabricated some stainless steel rollers as a drive drum for a larger machine here. Started with some 10" tube and flat plate. ended with some welded and balanced rollers. lastly some simple shaft adapters. was easier to weld the two sizes together than it was to machine the larger shaft down to the size of the smaller shaft

| That's some nice TIG welding there - steady hand. I can make welds like that without filler, but as soon as I add filler it gets inconsistent. Structurally sound, but not nearly as visually nice as yours for sure!
Cool stuff! | |

Cool stuff! Thanks. TIG welding is my favorite type of welding. harder to pickup than most though. I still have lots to learn and improve upon myself. Practice practice, practice. I use any excuse i can to break out the TIG to get better at it. Being self taught at it, it took a good while to get to this point.
