| On the way back from dropping off wheels @ convert2diesels place, wicked conversion IMHO, my drivers side window switch gave up the ghost.
The last time I attempted something like this, anger got the better of me and that door panel I "fixed" always flapped in the wind.
This time I would like to do it the right way. Does the whole panel have to come off and should I plan on getting replacement clips in advance?
Door panels and dash stuff remind me of a rubiks cube, and in this case I don't want to be peeling off stickers | |

| Stick a screwdriver into the front of the window switch opening and pry, and it should come out. Then disconnect and replace. On a Caprice/Impala, you do not need to remove the door panel to replace the window switch. | |

| Depending on what actually broke you may be able to replace parts of the switch. Let me know what is actually damaged, and I can give you some tips on minimal fixes. | |

| Joel's method will work. Just be cautious. You're dealing with 12+ year old plastic. I've gotten in a hurry once or twice and cracked the plastic panel. | |

| Actually you should lift the front only enough to push the front of the clip with the screwdriver, and it will come out without forcing anything. If you can not get the clip to release, you can loosen the bottom of the door, and reach up to release the clip from the inside. | |

| Come on over during the weekend and we'll do both the switch and your rollers.

| Thanks guys.
Used Joel's method and started gently from the top of the bezel and it was free. Can't say the same for the connectors that got married 15 years ago in Arlington Texas.
A quarter of the base of the switch had snapped.
I popped off the LR switch for the window that has bad rollers, ie don't touch it till its fixed switch and swapped it out for the broken drivers window switch so I killed one and a half birds with one stone.
Power went out here today, wicked thunderstorm, this post sent powered by a $100 generator.
