| Good Morning Everyone, I finally got around to repairing the window roller / slider on the pass rear door of my 1995 Caprice. This door panel had a good fit, and I assumed it had never been off the door / not broken pieces. To my surprise, when I pulled it apart, the area around the screw on the bottom right was broken off, there was not vapor barrier / plastic sheet, and there appears to be a bunch of adhesive which should have been holding on sound deadener (photos attached). Any tips on the best material to make a new vapor barrier out of? I think they are typically a little heavier than a kitchen garbage bag . Thanks, Andrew | |

You can reattach the broken part to the door panel with MEK. The panel is styrene, and MEK will melt it. I would also make some sytrene paste with MEK and scrap styrene to reinforce the repair. A little piece of nylon window screen "melted" into the backside of the panel then covered with the paste will reinforce it. Do not touch the front of the panel when working with MEK and use it carefully. | |
