My question is, why flat tappets? You can get a roller setup for about the same price, with almost no chance of failure, and no break-in required.

It looks nice. Did you check out the possibility of using a Fitec, or Holley TBI? They cost a bit more, and no tuning necessary.

Did you check for the distributor fit? It looks like a gen 1 engine, or at least heads. You may have to bore the intake manifold out to accept the shorter distributor to clear the cowl.

Looks good, hope that distributor clears the firewall.

No way on earth I could ever go back to a carb setup in 2021 though.

The distributor will clear, but he will have to install the intake and distributor after installing the long block. It is the same situation I have with my 454 and the stock LO3/5 distributor for the B/D bodies.
