I haven't been on this forum in a long time, but I know people are always looking for clean examples of these cars. I just saw this listing on the Antique Automobile Club of America site. Pete Philips, editor of the Buick Club of America national magazine, is trying to help the widow of recently deceased club member sell a '96 RMW. Pete's a straight shooter. Good luck and happy hunting! Joe Tonietto
Selling this 1996 Collector's Edition Roadmaster wagon for the widow of a recently deceased Buick Club member. They have owned it since 2012 when it had 39,000 miles. Now has 91,000 miles and runs/drives perfectly. Good tires, current license & inspection, clear Texas title, A/C and heat work perfectly, 8-way power seats work perfectly, leather upholstery has two small inch-long cuts in driver's seat back; power antenna works perfectly, cruise control not working; and the two rear door windows are not working. Original paint, never rusted, never dented, but the clear coat is failing on the hood. Has the tinted roof glass, 350 engine with dual exhausts, and a previous owner has installed heavy duty anti-sway bars so this thing handles very nicely around the curves. 1996 is the final and best year of the Roadmaster wagon, and it is unusual to find one that has less than 100,000 or 200,000 miles.
Car was bought new at Pippen Buick in Carthage, Texas (small East Texas town) and has been in Dallas since 2012. Asking $8995 or close offer. Can be driven anywhere.

Ugh, white with wood. Seems like most every RMW made was white with wood.

JoeT if you could post some undercarriage pictures and pictures of the inner fender behind the battery tray, that would really help. (Battery trays and inner fenders tended to rust on these cars). Otherwise I see a limited without the tow package, so it probably has the 2.56 open rear differential, with the usual faded clearcoat and peeling trim. Driver's door panel is cracked, steering wheel and carpet are significantly worn for 91k. The right buyer will want a pristine undercarriage and inner fenders and hopefully this car has those.

The listing for 1G4BR82P5TR415723 has been amended to "Hood & L.F. fender repainted". The reason I was given is that this wagon was involved in a hood-bender (in a driveway) back in 2015.
Thank you for posting about the car, regardless. It is, AFAICT from all the photos I got, rust free.

@sherlock9c1: Sorry if my initial post was not clear. This is not my car for sale and I do not have any additional information beyond what is in the ad. I posted the link to the classified ad from the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) site. If you need additional information, please contact Pete Phillips through the AACA listing. Thanks!
