Subject: 96 Roadmaster parts wanted. Wed Oct 11, 2023 5:32 pm
Hi guys, I have a low mile RMW that has a few things missing or broken and wondered if anyone here can help me. 1 Right side lower front black plastic piece is missing. 2 Special edition sticker on front Fender. 3 Top woodgrain piece on right hand interior door panel. 4 Lower woodgrain piece on drivers interior door panel. 5 Black rubber strip side to side on stainless trim on tailgate.
Any leads or information would be much appreciated.

Do you have a photo of what the sticker looks like?

Pretty sure that sticker isn't factory. Looks like something that was bought from Walmart or a parts store and slapped on there.

Well, that hadn't occurred to me! It just looked as though it belonged there. Well it will be easier to take that one off than it will to find another. Thanks for your input.

Those stickers are original, they weren't on every '96 but on a bunch, I remember seeing them when I was looking for a '96 years ago. The '96 was designated a "Collectors Edition", check the hood ornament, by Buick because they were the last ones or something like that. Check out this thread from right here.

Well thanks for the information, it clears things up and now means that I have to try and find one somewhere. Probably easier said than done. Thanks again.

Don't bother trying to find them because they were NOT factory but installed by certain dealers. That info is clearly stated in the quoted thread. Tacky add on at best.

Dear Mr. Strumph.
I am planning on parting out my 96 RMW with standard package/nothing heated. Those upper and lower woodgrain strips on the interior side of front doors, are they glued in and or push pinned in? They do not appear to be L/R oriented so either side will work. Cheers

Hello Whiteboard, thank you for contacting me. I've just had a bit of a look and the woodgrain pieces are on a black plastic backing piece . The woodgrain piece has tangs that go through the black plastic and through the door panel so it seems that the door panel has to come off in order to remove them . If the tangs break off then they would glue on ok im sure. Hope this helps, thanks.

Dear Mr. Strumph. Good day Sir. Thankx for the info on the front doors' woodgrain strips. I'll driving my 96 RMW until the first of December at which time I'll be parking it for parting it out. Being the start of winter and the vehicle being outside I do not see much happening until springtime. But! your needed parts will still be there. Cheers

The woodgrain interior parts are side specific. They are the same front to rear. They are at best difficult to reattach if lost. The tabs are extremely brittle and are almost impossible to remove without breaking them. The interior door panels are notorious for being fragile, so be careful with them.

Thank you WhiteBird, well it probably won't matter much at present because I doubt that I will get too much done now with winter closing in but hopefully we will have some contact a while in the future sir. Hopefully you will have most of the parts listed . Many thanks to you.

Dear Mr. Strumph. Good day Sir. You mention that the R/H side lower plastic piece is missing on your vehicle. Are you referring to the splash guard below the headlight? Cheers

Hello WhiteBird. Good day to you too. Good thing you asked ,I didnt explain it very well. Its the black piece that runs along the side of the car at the very bottom. The piece im missing is on the bottom of the front Fender on the passenger side behind the front wheel. A short piece. I hope this explains it a bit better for you. Thank you.

Good day to you Fred. That certainly looks like the part I need. Does it fit just with with screws or is there a clip that fits on the body. Mine is completely missing. $30 seems fair enough to me but we would have to find out the shipping cost because I'm in England. I don't know if you are ok with shipping out of the US but if not then I have a friend in New Jersey that for many years I've bought Chrysler parts and cars from and it could be sent to him and then it could come to me that way. Let me know what you think. Thank you.
