So over the weekend i installed my 10'' sub.. all went well.. but when i went to a parking lot to let it rip my lights started dimming.. im assuming its the alternator.. now my question is for the LO5 motors did the caddy come wit a bigger alternator that i could swap out?.. or did anyone of you guys get a bigger alternator from an aftermarket company?.. or just any suggestions on what i should do here.. its a 10'' sub so its not pushing crazy amounts of power..

The Cadillac had the same 100 amp alternator as us. In fact, my replacement alternator came from a Cadillac. lol

You could get a 9C1 alternator though, it's 140 amps if I remember right.

You don't need anything like an alternator (unless yours is howling). You DO need to check and upgrade or improve your wiring. If you don't, you could start burning up your car wiring. Tell us how & where you made your connections.

Old thread got bumped. I'm sure his setup is fine by now.

I'll be making the big 3 upgrade on my car once I get my second amp, just 'cause. I know Audio is one of those hobbies that never "stops" lol
