We just recently saw the kits for these preview. In talking with my police customers, a lot say they will be switching to these and Chargers, since Ford has discountinued the Panther platform, and the new Ford police car is a V6 Turbo based on the Taurus SHO. A lot of my folks say they don't want to take a chance with a V6 and Turbo, would rather stay with a V8. Of course price will be the deciding factor. It will be interesting to see what happens over the next few years. When the Charger police package came out I sold a TON of computer kits for them, but many accounts went back to the Crown Vic. The officers loved the speed of the Hemi in the Charger, but many officers claimed the front seat area of the Charger was just too small with all the equipment installed. If the Caprice has more room, it could re-take the lead as the police package of choice. From all the feeback I've got, Ford is basically about to be out, so it will be between the Dodge and Chevy. | I'm not quite sure what Ford is thinking.... It's either front-drive or all-wheel drive.
