| So the wife went shopping this morning, the kids were watching cartoons, and I snuck off to the garage for a little short Saturday project. First a short history lesson: In 1988 Oldsmobile was bringing out the new front-drive Cutlass Supreme, and '87 was supposed to be the last year for the older rear-drive car, but they had parts delays and productions issues on the new model....and the very old rear-drive Cutlass was still selling, so they renamed the old car a Cutlass Supreme Classic...worked for Coke, right? The '88 rear-drive car (my car) ran only for part of the year, and as the new front-drives finally came online, the rear-drive was finally killed off. Now back to the topic of the post. In 1987 and older Cutlass Supremes, the cars had door panel script chrome emblems. Well either to save a buck, or because Cutlass Supreme Classic might look a little long on the door panel, Olds just left the emblems off the doors for '88 (they DO have them on the exterior C-pillars). Well I found a good set of non-sun-faded '87 model panels with the emblems...and I like emblems, besides the plasti-chrome trim on my '88 panels was pretty much worn off, so I needed to do something with those anyway. The new panels are in nice shape, but the plasti-chrome on them was pretty bad too. I was debating about painting the trim, buying chrome decals, or...... Well I got as much of it off as I could, then dug around in the garage boxes and found some black and silver body pin stripes that I'd bought a long time ago for the exterior of the old 86 Caprice Classic. They were just about the exact same width of the plastic-chrome trim on the Cutlass door panels. So I put that stuff on. Would love to hear what you guys think! Old '88 door panels Fixing the trim on the "new' used '87 panels Installed '87 panels Fun-Fun! -Mike

| Call me crazy, but I don't see ANYTHING wrong with the "before" shots! ????? And it looks like you had much nicer play weather today than I did... | |

| Look at the trim around the cloth part on the old ones. That was chrome once, but was pretty much all worn to black.
And besides, I like the script emblems. ; )
As for weather, it's 73 degrees, but the clouds are rolling up from the gulf and it may rain this afternoon. If the rain holds off I'm planning to hit the Saturday night cruise-in....pics to follow!

| Mike your way seems to go better with the brushed aluminum piece thats attached to the front of the door pull.Something a little shinier would make it pop out at you a little better. My 2 Cents Jim Gordon |

| I did see the difference, but still, that wouldn't have been enough for me to go out and do something about it! What about the 1/4", 3M-backed, chrome trim that AutoZone sells? | |

| I'm going to see if this sticks first. So far, so good. ; )
Cloudy here but no rain so planning to head to the cruise-in at 5pm.
Cars and Coffee is tomorrow. I'm doing the anti-rain dance.

| I do too, Mike.
Please bear with me as I use poor attempts at comedy to cope with my intense anger and jealousy about your stupid #*@*ing weather. | |

| It's going to be 77 again today, but the high in Wednesday is only going to be 50, and lows in the 20's that night. Got a "blue norther" blowing in tomorrow and temps are supposed to fall like mad tomorrow afternoon.
I'll have pnemonia by Thursday. Was nice to wear shorts for at least a few days.

| Gee, I feel bad for you, Mike. 0* tonight. 4-6" tomorrow. 12"+ on Wednesday. Tomorrow's snow is supposed to be powder. The snow coming Wednesday is supposed to be the heavy, wet sh!t. Boo. I don't know where I'm gonna put it. The snow banks at the end of my driveway are already shoulder height. Wish I could convince my wife to move south! | |

| We hardly have ground cover. Mebby you could convince her to move closer to her Maiden of Honor??!!
I'd even provide her with a 2-day continuous Sandra Bullock movie-thon, WITH corn. The popped kind!

| I can beat that, I know where Sandra Bullock's house is here in Austin on the lake. Come here and we'll take the boat and you might see her in person. ; ) | |

| But hey, it's New England, so it could be sunny and 70* on Thursday... Right? They always say "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute..." And both them offers sound pretty good. Mike, got any exhibitionists on the lake? (Hopefully not just you) | |
