What a difference 24 hours can make! Snow yesterday, and today was GORGEOUS, upper 60's, not a cloud in the sky. God Bless Texas! ; )
So I'm sunburned, got out and washed Misty's Grand Prix and then detailed out the Cutlass, and took off the T-tops. I sure would like to get my Roadmaster back from Dad, but for now I'm having a good time with the Cutlass....by the way it rolled over to 94,000 miles on the way to the car show.
My wife got sucked up in the pretty weather too, and actually asked to go to the car show with Eddie and I. So my wife and both our kiddos piled in the Cutlass and drove over to Cedar Park.
After being trapped in snow, us Texans want to GET OUT. Super Good turn out tonight, the regulars and some cool new cars too!
We hung out at the show for about an hour, then ran over and got some good Tex-Mex for dinner at El Patron, and then went BACK to the show for another hour of car gawking in the dark. Good Times!
As usual had camera in hand. Hope you enjoy the pics!
OH and Cars and Coffee is tomorrow up in Leander...REALLY THIS TIME, and it's supposed to be in the 70s and even prettier than today was...woo-hoo! Pics of Cars and Coffee meet tomorrow evening.
Now on to tonight's show!
Misty, Eddie, Tuck and myself driving through the trees on the way to Cedar Park. T-tops off, GORGEOUS afternoon and really nice drive.
Check out this 1965 Sunbeam Tiger! Wow! 260 Ford V8, really REALLY nice!
Sharp black '05 GTO. You have to DRIVE on to appreciate how nice there were!
See a lot of 70's Ford Pickups with fender skirts?? This was owned by a 65 year old woman, it's a Ranger Explorer model with at 460 in it. Odd stuff!
Black 81 Vette
Check out this oval window bug. This is about the sharpest bug I've ever seen. Roll-back soft top, real leather interior, and just look at the engine! The black paint was perfect...I mean perfect
How about a blown 57 Chevy Drag Car, that the guy drove to the show! How this is street legal I don't know. You should have smelled the race fuel and heard the noise when he turned in the lot! The amazing thing is that it has stock Bel Air interior, with a racing shifter added. Wild!
The gorgeous 70 Challenger R/T was there too. Another one that's somehow street legal, ha!
And now check out this Chevelle Super Sport. Drool Drool Drool!
Good turn out at the show!
The Vette Club showed up
Hot late-model Mustang
A happy fat guy enjoys the evening!
When we got back to the show after dinner there was a super-sweet 1966 Cutlass hardtop with a 330 in it. I parked my 88 Cutlass behind it. A really nice couple about my age own itm and they had recently moved to Austin for Brooklyn New York. Nice folks, and his wife knew a ton about the car and was very involved in the restoration. She's the one who told it had a 330 in it, and also she'd found a lot of NOS parts on it off Ebay, which she showed off. So neat to see women get into the hobby! Will have better pics of this car tomorrow, as they are also going to Cars and Coffee and we're going to park the Cutty's side-by-side.
Hope you liked the pics folks! Check in tomorrow for Cars and Coffee pics!
