| One of the tabs on one of my rear glass supports is broken off, leaving me no way to connect the wire for the defroster to the strut. Is it possible to repair this or do I just need to replace the strut? My local Napa has the strut with the defrost connectors for $19.99. Thoughts? | |

| I have had trouble with NAPA struts working properly. I don't drive the wagons in the winter, so it's not that big of a deal for me. For $19.95, if it doesn't work, just bring it back. I know guys swear by the GM brand.

| Hey Big Wagon when you first install that new strut'close very slowly and feel for any excessive resistance.I bought a set from Advance and one side had a bind that could have shattered the window if I had not been very careful.Went back to Advance with receipt and told them what happened and they handed me a new one before I finished the conversation.Want 2 struts with equal resistance so the window closes smoothly. If the struts are binding you will quickly feel which side is stiffer.Just be careful. | I bought the Monroe ones from Advance, and advise you don't buy them. The defrost connectors were loose out of the packaging, and a year and a half later one of the stuts leaked already. | |

| I don't know what the Napa brand is, but is sounds like GM original may be the way to go. Does anybody have the GM part number, unless there is a way to reconnect the wire to the strut? | |

Couldn't you just solder the wire back on? | |

| Cadet57, I certainly have considered that. I am trying to keep it as clean looking as possible and I haven't soldered anything in years. I may have to give it a try. | |
