| Hi all. Good day today, picked up Dad and we drove north on I-35 and hit the salvage yards in Waco and then back in Belton. Some neat finds and a good time. As usual, had the camera with me. The day started off a little rough. I'd been driving the 79 Buick all week and the Roady had been hibernating in the driveway. I went to fire up the Roady and first noticed my keyless entry was dead...and it turns out the car itself was dead. Bad battery, the dome light had been left on....since Monday...yikes! 79 Buick to the rescue! Once the Roady came back to life we headed north to Waco. Here we go. Found this waiting at the front. Pretty picked over, but something really odd here.... Ummm...this Roady wagon has a power sliding sun roof....say WHAT? This was pretty wild. The car had a Caprice wagon headliner in it that totally covered the Vista window, and the sunroof itself slid into where the Vista window used to sit. No joke, weird! Next I got all excited over this... Because I saw this door panel...not broken in front of the arm rest! Maroon! And then I saw a chunk out just below the light....DAMMIT! Ol Yeller Cutlass 1977 Custom Cruiser with a 403 Solid 77 Impala Roady Sedan Delta with interesting headlights Semi-score. Uncracked lower Roady door panel..in tan. Will try to dye it for my car Another G-body Cutlass El Camino Turbo Mr. Brady I found your car Who needs a 455 Buick? Check out these hubcaps! Yes these are hubcaps. HEAVY, and I almost bought one to hang in my garage. They were cool! How about a 1965 Impala Super Sport? A solid 9C1 Caprice LS Fleetwood Cavalier Z24 Impala clone Interesting Monte Clean and solid G-body Regal This one was sad to see. Despite the front end damage it was SOLID with zero rust and low miles. Interior was CLEAN and I really wanted to pull the door, they had no rust anywhere on them. 89 Custom Cruiser Wait, what's that sound....a goat??? Ok then.... Boattail Riv Ha, guessing this was a Daytona "Spyder" ?? And in the parking lot this was waiting. It's amazing the cars people are fixing up now. Hope you liked the pics! -Mike | |

| I have a hard time dealing with how good your yards are. There is a U Pull It here now, but I don't bother going because it will just be filled with rusty Cavaliers and mini vans. | |

| Mike thanks for all the great pics and shame on you for not pulling some of those parts. The red panel would have been an easy fix, just make a patch from your cover and replace that chipped rear edge on the red panel.I would have loved to find out more about the power sunroof in the RMW like WHY?Did you look underneath for gas tank straps?LOL glad you and POP had a good time. | Looked like a great day! That gray Regal Limited did have a sweet interior. Some of that stuff would be great eBay fodder for the Turbo Buick community. And you're right about the doors. Rust free doors are becoming harder to find. Also, they fit both the Regal and Cutlass. | |

| I should have lifted the hood off that burgundy Roady wagon and taken some more pics of that sunroof. It was the wildest thing. The Vista roof was smashed so you can see what they did. It had been leaking for sure though as someone has sprayed foam all around the edges.
It was an aftermarket power sliding sunroof and the mechanism mounted in front and under the Vista window. They put a Caprice headliner in it I'd guess, because from inside the car all you see is the power sunroof, the Vista roof is covered over.
Weird!
And I would have grabbed more parts but I was limited on funds this weekend. This was more of an excuse to get out of town than anything else.
Oh and every one of those unique Buick hubcaps had a dent on them somewhere. They were cool though!

Yep that's why I want them. The only rust on my 88 Cutlass is along the inside of the lower door area, and one small spot near the front on the passenger door. Those would be perfect...and I may still go nab them on payday. -Mike | |

| I looked at a DGGM WB4 (ok, jadestone, whatever... ) about 10 years ago, and it had that same roof. I couldn't BELIEVE they would cover the vista roof just to have small sunroof in front of it! And it looked odd from up top, too. And that PPM Fleetwood was pretty cool! | |
