Is a 15x8 too wide for a 235/75/15?

Junior is about ready to buy tires for the soft8s and he's on a budget.....

Going to look kinda like a bigass girl with a little waist wearing stretch pants.They will fit butt look
kinda funny.

Everything of course depends on your definition of BIG!Seriously go on CL and find a set of 225 or235/70s to put on
and maybe find them with RWLs.I found a like new set of Uniroyals 225/70/15 in like new shape for 125 bucks.

I've got 295/50/16's on 8 inch rims. Correct back spacing is important for the rears

Yeah I'm hip on the backspacing as mine are 4in BS and they rub on hard right turns with the 255/60/15s on there now... I was thinking the skinnier tire might buy me a little clearance.

I'm running 235/55/17s on the Impala rims and they look fine. Isn't that a 8.5 width?

Budget is under 400 for tires

Are you rubbing outside or inside? If inside you could add shims

Yeah, 235/55s on the Impala rims look good. IMO, 235/70 would be better than 235/75. There are more passenger tires in that size, whereas 235/75 is more truck tires. The Indy 500s he has on there now can be had in 235/70, and Primewell makes a whiteletter tire that's pretty cheap and I heard good things about too.

235/70/15'S are the way to go. 15x8 Chevy truck rally's used 235/75/15's from the factory. Can you find used tires on Fla. CL? You Floridians usually use every last bit of tire up, don't you?

Hate to hijack, but thanks for the info. I just got a set of truck rallys for free and I was wondering if 225's or 235's would fit. Good to know I can go with 35's.

235/70/15s are an option tire on some of the wagons, and RMS. You should not have any clearance problems up to 9 wide inch rims. If you do, it is body alignment or backspacing. The 235/75/15s may make your speedo read a little slow.

Notice the awesome tread depth on these tires!!!! I ran these up to the WF Florida and back. Good thing it wasn't raining, lol.

I ran tires with less tread than that in a blinding rain at 60 mph.

You may have excessive offset. I have stock rims, and 255/60s on them and they are about 3/4 of an inch away from the fenders. A 9 inch rim should fit with the proper offset. I can stick my fingers between the fender and tire on mine.

You can't roll the lip on an OCC, the trim screws to it.

I just had a massive brain fart.... my snow tires are 235/75 mounted on 15x7 rims so of course they'd fit a 15x8 truck rally. Stupid me

Heck we got 275/50/17 kumos on the back of ours using Impals SS Wheels with NO Problems, no cutting and no rubbing what so ever

backspacing is key. these rims have a TON of space behind them...

Always wanted to run 275/50s all the way around on my wagon.Phastsswagon,what are you running up front?
