| Hey all-
I just wanted to say hello. I hope to start making regular stops here.
My '67 wagon has been harassing the Pro Touring circuit for the last few years and I've really been enjoying it.
I also won Car Craft's 'Real Street Eliminator' competition in 2011 with it- the first wagon to ever place in that competition, let alone win it.
It's a fun all-around performance car that runs low 12s (without the nitrous) on street tires and pump gas and still gets more than 20 mpg on the freeway.
I look forward to participating here.
~S~
Some links? Sure- if I could. But I'm new, so I can't.

| Sounds awesome! My first 60's car was a 67 Belair wagon, and I have a 65 Biscayne wagon now.
Pics are a MUST!

| Welcome to the madness Scott.Out of all the 60s era wagons the 67 and 68 are my favorites. That Pro-Touring bunch are nuts,so you will fit right in here!Is yours the wagon featured in the autocross pics? Jim |

| Yes that's my wagon in the event pics. It's also featured in the Feb 2012 issue of Car Craft.
It was also in Scotty Gosson's 'America's Coolest Wagons' book, if any of you saw that.
I'll post links as soon as I can. I'm not allowed to yet, since I'm new. I can't even send them in messages to any of you, since I'm new. LOL!
That's cool- I'll wait out my probation or e-mail them to anyone who sends me a non-site e-mail address I can use...then they can be re-posted here for everyone.
I'm planning more mods for this summer, too. Maybe more power, stickier tires...and maybe new wheels. We'll have to see how things go. I want more grip but I'm limited by wheel width right now. I hate to change wheels (mine are kinda rare) but that's what happens when you need to step it up a notch!
I see a lot of drag racers here (I was one for a long time and I want to get into the 11s with mine...it's run 12.40s already without a lot of prep or tuning)...but does anyone else road race or autocross with their wagons?

| sounds like a real cool car,. welcome aboard,. you'll probably get more bonding over at station wagon forums.com,. this particular site is really geared towards 91-96 b- body wagons,. but always interested to read about the other guys car,. guys that are serious about more grip, usually run dedicated wheels and tires for such events,..
Lot of drag racers here?? I never knew,.

| I'm seeing there's a lot of B-body wagons here...I got caught off-guard by the whole "Forum for all GM Station wagons, Suburbans and Panel trucks..." tagline.
I've raced a lot of different cars for a long time, but the whole idea behind this wagon was to try and make it work with true street tires I can drive anywhere with. The Nitto 555s I have are working fine, but there are better tires out there now. I want to try NT05s, but I'd like some wider versions. With the proper wheels, I can stuff 275s under all 4 corners. I need custom backspacing to do it though...
I love drag racing. I've done it a LOT...but once I got the chance to drive on a road course, everything changed. After getting used to waiting several hours for the chance to make one 10-second run, the whole experience of driving as hard as I could for 20-30 minutes at a time was enlightening. Learning to corner effectively and tune a suspension was all new to me as well. I thought I knew something until I went road racing.
Once addicted, the wagon project was always destined for the road course. I've been clocked at 130 mph in it, just the way I drive it on the street. Same exhaust, pump gas, tires, etc.
The cool thing about a road race car is that you can still drag race it too! Of course, it's not optimized...but I don't want to put a roll bar in it, so I can only go as fast as 11.50 anyway. My goal is to get it right there in street trim. I think I could get there with a dusting of nitrous in fourth gear now. We'll see this summer. With better tires, I'm confident it'll break into the 11s on motor alone. I'm anxious to find out.

| The links are up guys and they work,I checked.Always wanted to try a road course out.My nephew is running an RX7/LS2 combo at VIR and it is fast.Recently saw a posting with a instructor and he was passing all the bimers and a few vettes.Car just builds speed so fast in the straights that the instructor got mad at the other instructors for not watching their rears for oncoming traffic and telling their students to give way.I got him started when he first got his license with his first RX7.Never thought he would take it this far.Kinda proud of him as he took his time and did it right.Built this last RX with everything top notch and the car was already a trick car with a seized twin turbo rotary so he got it cheap.
