| Noticed today my rear passenger footwell is soaked. Where does that mean its leaking? The roof racks? | |

| Use Search, there is plenty on leaks and ways water could come in.
The first place I would look is that rear fender well. Pull out the back seat and whatever else is necessary, so you can look where the rear seatbelt attaches to the rear fender well.

| I'd check the AC drip hose on the firewall. Make sure the little rubber elbow is still there. Very common water leak for our cars there. | |

I don't think it's that only because it rained all day yesterday and now its soaked.

| Ok. I can dig that. But still, it's easy enough to open the hood and check to see if it's there. | |

| On the passenger side, below the heater core and ac lines, where the firewall starts to bend under to the floor. Kind of above the exhaust pipes. In that general area. | |

| I'm hopefully going to take a peek tomorrow if the rain stops. But does the water come IN thru those floors or is a leak elsewhere and eats the floors out there? | |

| Not sure where it came from. Once it rusted out, as you can see, the holes are HUGE and water (and noise) were unstoppable by the carpet. | |

Great. Lets hope there isn't a hole.

| Got the carpet out and used the Michigan Rust Dectector. There were no hole(phew!) But the floors were SOAKED. Pulled out all the carpet padding on the rear footwell wet/dry vaced the water out and then let the sun dry it out. Going to check tomorrow when it's 100% dry, but it looks to be the lower corner of the C pillar where the water is coming in. Thankfully it's going to be dry the rest of the week, giving me time to troubleshoot. | |

| *Bump* Finally got around to fixing this. It was one of the body welds, that calking/adhesive wore out and caused water to flow in. Pulled out all the crappy wet padding, wire wheeled all the rusty spots. Put down 3 coats of Sem Rust Shield and packed the hole with roof calking. Water tight once again. | |

| If there is any gap because of the popped weld, it might not hurt to drill through it and bolt the metal together, then coat. | |

Car is back together and I'm too lazy to take it apart again.

| I wonder if all these cars have that problem? Boy I hope not! I think I'm going to check mine out in the fall. I don't drive it in the salt. My whale will just sit most of the winter out. Trying to keep it till I can't drive.
