GM Nationals in Carlisle is upcoming - Drive in registration ends May 21st

I registered the Impala today at the Carlisle GM Nationals. Good news is that the Caprice and Wagon class is one class this year!! For the Caprice guys anyway.

Met a couple or three younger guys from Pittsburgh. One was Ian not sure the others names. Ian and I would get along. He knew Ian Craig and Scoob from the are clubs. They had sedans, Ian's was a nice looking gold cappy with Impala wheels.

Sat next to Art from Elizabeth NJ. He has a 1995 one owner (him) DCM Impala with 7900 miles. It was PERFECT. The black/red/silver(or was it white) wagon from Williamsport was there. He also had a concept/spacely looking Impala with him as well. He does interiors for a living. I talked to him about WagonFest. Maybe he will come. Bob had about the only other "bubble" wagon there. Very poor turn out from the wagon crew. Many less Caprices and 9C1's as well. Most of the faithful Impala folks were in attendance. A new guy from Long Island was there with another 1994, but it was the only other 94'. Nice to meet some new people. Bob took lots of pictures, I am sure he will post for us.

Hoping for that Three-pete......

The group was very small this year. This whole show is about 1/2 of what it has been in the past.

Just got back from Carlisle - Phew what a weekend.

Started out by blowing a tire not even out of NC friday night . Threw the DONUT (yes I said DONUT) on the left rear and drove over 400 mile to Carlisle on it. Got to Carlisle @ 5am saturday morning. Found a set of BFG's in the swap meet saturday morning left the show to have them mounted and balanced, and made it back to the show just in time for judging.

Took two awards home from the Clubs holding the (IMPALALYMLPICS) Thanks POSSI & BEAST.

Won the Farthest distance award & Took Second for Best B-Body over 175K

Then Took Second Place from the Show for 1991 - 1996 CAPRICE & WAGONS - STREET Class

This one here took first - All I have to say IS OMG

I talked with that guy for a bit. Nice guy out of Williamsport PA. I invited him to wagonfest. He also owns the sedan sitting next to the wagon. He does upholstery for a living.

Oh and he hand built those cars. Does ALL the body work himself. He created the wing on the back of the wagon.
