1996 Caprice Classic White with Wood Paneling 5.7l 350 V8 - Virginia

Greetings,

I bought my wagon from a nice local used car lot "4 U Motors" in Winchester, VA in Jan 2011 with 137,000 miles for $2300. I was looking for an SUV sized vehicle with out the SUV MPG if you know what I am saying. I'm trying to fix it up to haul the three kids (one with twins on the way) and make my normal 110 mile round trip commute.

Its got 165k or so miles on it and far I have replaced the rear main seal, air intake gasket, regreased the front wheel bearings, front breaks/rotors, upgraded speakers plus subwoofers. I am planning on replacing all the wheel bearings, front break pads/rotors, fill in some rust holes behind the rear wheel panels, total repaint, window tint.

Found out about the forum though the rockauto.com news letter.

Greetings. These cars are great drivers, once you spend some time and money getting them 'right'. Almost all of the trouble areas are well documented, so there shouldn't be many surprises.

Welcome! A '96 Caprice wagon is one of the rarest ones. I believe the fewest were made in '96, the final year.
