I know I've been a way a while but I'm back to bug you all. Ha. Life's been very busy lately and I just haven't really been interwebbing all that much. I think about all you nuts quite often and then Tim came up to my neck of the woods and shook some sense into me over the past few days. So here I am.
So I finally slammed the marshmallow back together enough to drive last week. It's got the Impala's old heads/cam motor in it and a 2800 stall, umi u&l control arms and a built impala disc rear with 3.42's... But I had to really throw it together quick because we sold the house and I needed to get it mobile. So I didn't get to sem the floors and frame and stuff i had planned to do. Maybe in the next house, when we find one. But it's alive and man, did I miss that mofo!
And yes, I've had quite a few cars since I talked to most of you. Miata's gone, bird is gone, an e30 came and went. And i just sold the vee yesterday. Downsizing for the move.
So anyways, hello! And I'm back! Missed ya.

And Chris, your car looks KILLER!!!! I have some catching up to do!
And Mike, I sold the Vee to free up some cash for down payment/closing costs/moving crap. I can always build another monster down the line. And I will NEVER buy another one already built. I lost my shirt on that stupid friggen Caddy! Although, that happens on all my caddies, it seems. Moving to the town I grew up in, about 25 miles east of where I am now, Hampstead, NH.
And Mike, back in a real car? Sweet.
Good to be back. Thanks.

Good luck on the move, glad you're back. Sorry to hear about the Caddy. At last report you were still loving it.
And yep, got me another wagon. I love that it's an Oldsmobile but miss the LT1 a lot. I've not done much to it yet, but have lots of plans for it. I dodged a tornado in it driving it home so I gotta keep it now.
Mike you had better keep it!Dont think any of us could stand your looking for another cherry low mileage wagon. In a few months my wagon will be lower mileage than yours again anyhow!

We need to get a play by play on the Marshmallow. I WILL miss the vee...... Thanks again! . . . . . . . Now it looks like a have to make a trip to Pittsburgh and shake up Scoob!!!
I'm still driving Chris' old OCC that he sold me so he could buy those green wheels of his. Only mods to it, was where my wife backed into the quarter panel....with her RMW.
It's new news for everyone here, as I never mentioned it before.....At least she hit the panel that had the crinkle in it...on both cars, lol.
I got an estimate on it and it was more than I paid for the car so it'll just stay there I guess. Other news I dragged a Mercury home but haven't done much with it yet. thread around here somewhere.

Welcome back Bill. Moving huh. Congrats and hope it's to something with a bigger garage.
If it isn't, it will.
We're moving into a rental while we search. Needs to have at least a 2 car attached for the dailys and room to build a 25'x30' "shop" (Hampstead only allows 750 sq ft for a detached garage in residential zones) with 12' ceilings for the projects and lift.

Like the vid Bill. Sounds good, but the seats gotta go!!!
As for your Caddy, I looked at used CTS-V's (mainly due to drooling over your pics) and G8's back in August when I replaced Misty's '01 Grand Prix. I loved both of those but just could not scrape together enough funds for either one. I really wanted an '05-06 GTO, and we could have swung that, but Misty HAD to have 4drs. We're still liking her "new-to-us" V8 Grand Prix GXP. It's really fast, but it's wrong-wheel-drive....and the gas mileage SUCKS!
Toys!
I've had the new '92 OCC less than a month and am still working out bugs...it just sat unused too long. Thankfully it gave us no issues on the trip home. I'm hoping to get the small stuff done so I can start making it look and feel "younger".
Keep your pics and project updates coming and don't get lost again!
-Mike

Funny, I was looking for an 05-6 GTO or G8 GT when I ended up with the V...
I always kinda dug those GP GXP's too. Was always curious to drive one.
It's a fun car. Lots of toys and it's fast. The mileage is not what I thought it would be though. I mean I wasn't expecting a gas-sipper, but it's not close to the factory ratings, and in reading online everyone else says the same thing that has them. They love fuel.
My buddy Ben in NJ still has his '06 GTO. Bought new, stored winters, and less than 8K miles on it still. Has the 6spd, just a neat car. The only real regret I have on these is they didn't offer a sunroof. It was supposed to be a high-end car, but the lack of a sunroof is silly, especially when you could get one on a Holden Monaro, which is the same car.
Really fun to drive. If Ben ever sells it...it's MINE. I don't care if it looks like a bloated Cavalier!

Eh, what? I'll admit I like the "Welcome Back" song, though it has been stuck in my head a time or two. Last time I heard it was from a Compact Cassette. (Let's see if that outdoes playing it from or having it on a 45.) So let's see...I know the song, definitely know what 45s are (have a massive pile of 'em) and I'm not quite 30 yet.
Maybe you should just install a Highway Hi-Fi in your wagon! (Beat that!)

I never needed those yellow things. My dad's record player had a little disk on a post.
I think my first 45 was Dream On by Aerosmith. I threw away all my old 45s when my dad hade me get rid of the boxes I had stored in his attic. I never missed them. But I still have all my old LPs.
Welcome back Crovo. To the same old place that you laughed about.

Not the most popular option but Chrysler had a record player that mounted under the dash for a couple of years in the early 60s. Bought an Imperial with one in it. Took me a month to figure out what it was .
Worked well sitting in the driveway but you had to be on a real smooth road to get it to play without skipping. Took 45s only without the center piece, sort of like a horizontal juke box. Would actually play both sides. Have no idea how you would change the needle(s) in it (that was a normal maintenance issue back then) but it did work, sort of. Storing your tunes was also another issue. Had a pocket in the dash for like 4 records.
Only one I have ever seen so must not have been offered for very long. Neat option though, assuming you liked listening to your music in mono through two speakers (front and rear) which also was an option in the early 60s. Chrysler called it "Symphony Sound". Yeh right.
My first records were all Elvis but "Leader of the Pack" by the Shangri La's was my alltime favorite. Actually ruined the first record and ended up buying another copy.Probably just wore it out! Always loved the background engine noise, always thought it was a BSA 650 with straight pipes but was never positive.Still have all those records in the attic!
