ATF on sale at Advance 1/14/2013

Just found out that Advance Auto Parts.com is selling Dex/Merc III ATF for $3/qt, down from $4.49 a quart. If you flush your 4L60E yearly like I do, at 10 quarts a flush, this is a great deal. BTW, buy it in groups of 12 so the parts guy just hands you a case of it.

Yes, store brand "Coastal" I think. That's what I use. Dexron 6 is a better fluid but it's almost much more expensive. For daily drivers, if you swap the fluid out before it oxidizes, you're fine, and you get a cleaner trans to boot.

Thanks for the heads up, my 5 gal bucket from my last trans job is almost empty.

Where'd you buy 5 gallons of the stuff, and at what price?

The autozone near me had it. It was $70, bought it when I had the RMW's trans overhauled because of that and another job I would do soon. I figured I could save a few bucks and get all I needed in one shot.
It sure is convenient having that much on hand.
