| So those of you who read my thread on teenagers, know I just had to replace the RMW grille on Dusty. Luckily I had one stashed and put it on the car Monday (2 days ago) after work.
My wife called me on the way home for some directions somewhere and then mentions, btw we need a new grille. I'm thinking BBQ and said why? Because a reverand backed into it. Still dreaming of grilled meat I'm confused and say so. SHe then explains that she was taking my daughter to an after school thingy that happenes to be at a church. She pulled in, someone pulled in behind her and the reverand backs out and WHAMO, there goes the '2 day old grille'.
Wow, only took me 2 years to find an unbroken one at the junkyard.
Anyone got one for sale?

| Perhaps a retrofitted cast iron sewer grate would be more appropriate. | |

And a push bar. She just got home. It's far worse than the love tap my son gave the last one. In fact I'll be putting that one back on and this one is crushed. It's dark and I can't get the hood open either, so it may be quite a bit more extensive as I can't tell if the hood bowed (doesn't look like it compared to the fenders) but the support may be compromised as well. I do see the one FS on here with the surrond for 100 which seems to be a good deal...Have to see it in the daylight tomorrow. Now the car is really looking ragged out with the peeling clear coat, faded woodgrain and various dents all over.

| I have a complete grille and frame. It is losing the black paint on the lettering, but otherwise in excellent condition. I have it on ebay for $100, but would do the deal with you for $75 plus shipping, or you could pick it up at Daytona next month.
The impact probably bent the center support, and pulled the latch down a little, making it too tight to unlatch. I can get you the center support (where the outside air temp sensor attaches) if you need one.
Maybe the Reverend could pay for the parts, or his insurance company. If they are paynig, I would sell it to them at full price.
I hope there is not too much damage. I may be able to get a complete core support if you need one. I will have to price it, but usually $150 plus shipping.

| That sucks dude. Watch out for bad luck #3!
That said, I'm pretty sure I have one in storage. When I move and unload the storage units, I'll hook you up if you haven't found one by then. It's missing the emblem, but you can have it for the price of shipping.
Edit: I have an occ grill, not a rmw. Sorry.

| Thanks everyone. When I parted the 9C1 I saved all those parts for the center support, hood latch, grille support, etc, I just need to unbury them in my garage (time to reorganize). I will work on getting the hood open probably this weekend (luckily I checked the oil the other day and it was good) as I have somewhere to go right after work tonight.
The Reverand (she) will definitely be paying for all parts I use, at current market (not forum) pricing in order to cover my PITA factor.

I disagree. Not because the person is a reverend, but I don't think this situation warrants making any profit. I'm sure you'd appreciate it your wife/kids/you smacked into someone and that person only charged you what it cost to carry out the repair. I agree the situation is a PITA for you but you have access to resources others don't IOT to resolve it.

| Jason, I'm not going to charge body shop rates by any means, however, It appears the hood may be bent a bit, the grille frame surround is pushed back into the center support and I can't 'feel' the hood release cable when I pull the hood release (only the local spring).
If that is the case, we will contact the other party and see where they want to go with it, as if there is anything more serious than the surrond and grille, I'm thinking they may want their insurance involved.
I will know more tomorrow in the daylight. I realize it was an accident and I'm all for helping folks out whenever possible. That said, this has inconvienced me as I have canceled a weekend camping trip with my family that my daughter was looking forward to all week in order to work on the car (have to be able to open the hood) and hopefully have it at least in serviceable condition. Additionally, if I do the repair work, I feel my time is worth something as well (as in I spend a day at the JY pulling the parts off, gas to drive there etc). If you disagree with that, that's your opinion and you are entitled to it.
WHen I say market price, I'm talking what the going rate on ebay, etc. not the bro price or JY rates.
