| I'm looking for a good performance replacement PROM chip for my '93 Roadmaster Estate, but all I can find are ones for a '93 Caprice, and a '92 Roadmaster Estate. I know they both sport the 5.7L L05 engine so I'm wondering, could I just use the one for the '92 Roadmaster Estate? I would post links to both chips on Summit but it won't let me post links yet because I'm a new member.
'93 Caprice Model Number: Hypertech ThermoMaster 123462
"92 Roadmaster Estate Model Number: Hypertech ThermoMaster 422302

| If you can get a chip from a 5.7 TBI 9C1 and the injectors, you can get a tiny bit more HP. I do not know if the Hypertech chips are any better. | |

| You would also have to get the 9C1 cam, because it is different from the civi version. I just looked them up, and found the difference. | |

| I've been reading into the "9C1" LO5. Do they still make this cam? If so is there a part number? | |

| The manual does not list a part number. | |

| Did some more digging. Found this thread http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/tbi/171371-350-tbi-caprice-police.htmlIt says the cam was the same as the L98 camshaft of the era. I would guess they would be easy to acquire considering it's a 'Vette part. So at this point its a matter of either finding either A) a TBI 9C1 with all the parts or B) buying said parts, (Rockauto still has 9C1 injectors) and finding someone who can flash the ECM. | |

| You need the 9C1 chip, not a flash. | |

It's not the actual ECM in the passenger side kickpanel?

| The chip is mounted IN the ECM on the kick panel. You open the little panel, and it is removable. | |
