Hi , I ´m new here in this fine forum .

My car is an 96 Caprice Classic Station -

and at first I got a question ; perhaps can anybody help me :


I want to clean the roof , away with all that mounted stuff upon it - I don´t have the need to carry something on the roof .


So , are there some filler kits , if I want to take out the long black parts on left and right ?

Welcome to the board. By the way, 'all the stuff mounted upon' the roof is called the roof rack. That's easier to say.

I don't think it has a rake, guys. He's parked up against a curb.

I'm assuming the plate that Werner+ is from somewhere in north eastern europe.

if you are going to remove your roof rack, we have a member on the forum here who is looking for one, he lives in Hungary and shipping one from here is proving to be logistical challenge. so if remove yours and sell it to the member in Hungary you could offset the cost of the roof rack filler strips.

I´m from germany-west and the station is a modell 96 , built at the end of 95 .

Colour is the original garnet red metalic , engine is the big one , car has anything which could be delivered from GM , red leather inside aso ........

I bought it as a new one , imported , and now it has about 363.000 kilometers .......

Welcome! Not often we get an original owner, let alone one in Germany. The 1996 model year has less than 1000 wagons built, they killed it off and only sold the Buicks for the rest of the year. BY the plate my guess would be Hannover, Germany.

I love that color myself.

I Understand, the photo angle is hard to see the I I was close though

I ve got it with the speed limiter , so that brings me to drive the 275 tires which are cheap - the limiter closes at km 175 .

We have so much speed limits here in Germany on the highways , I think more than 80 % is 60 to 75 miles .


It s easier and more relaxin to go from LA to Vegas than from Hannover to Munic .


But , few years ago , we had a ZR1 , dirven by night from San Diego to LA - nearly 200miles on the speedometer for about 3 minutes ............
