New menber from France Empty
PostSubject: New menber from France   New menber from France Icon_minitimeSat Apr 13, 2013 10:38 am

Hi everybody,

I'm a new menber from France, (Yes, far away but the land of WINE, Food, Cheese....).

First, i want to present all my apologies for mistakes in my american writing.

Second my little story....

About 12 years ago i saw a car that catch all my attention on my local home depot parking lot.
That was a blue Buick roadmaster wagon, she was so sweet, so glamorous and elegant lines, so exclusivity (in France), seems so practical and comfy, so i was very impressed by such a car that combines all of these qualities that no other europeans car provides at the moment.

so the years and years pass and keep a good memory of this car in my mind.

3 years ago, after my daily driver (Chrysler voyager) was totaled on a Highway, i need a new car, that must be practical, comfy, exotic, beautyfull, and...V8.

I immediately remenber which car i want, i must found one right now.....and i find it right now....and it was the car i saw on my local home depot parking lot 9 years before that was for sale.

In France there isn't more 6 or 7 Buick Roadmaster.

Now she's my daily driver since 3 years and i love it more and more.
Every day peoples stop me and ask about it and tell me how she is beautifull with her intemporal lines and how she sound so great.

Let me to present her:

1991 Buick roadmaster estate wagon 305ci
Light saphirre blue/Dark saphirre blue interrior
New carpet from Stockinterriors ultra plush cut pile 1017 lapis blue with matching floor mat with buick logo (absolutely perfect fit, look and quality)
Grant chrome/walnut classic steering Wheel
Summit Racing G9001 long tube Header heat and oil treated
2.5" Dual exhaust with crosspipe and 2 Dynomax SuperTurbo
Cold Air Intake with KN filter
LPG equipped (Liquid Propane Gaz) (Here in France gas is priced at 8,5$/gallon versus LPG at 4,2$/gallon)
Innovate MTX-L air/fuel ratio gauge
Th700R4 rebuilt and reinforced with 5 planetary/beast sunshell/Kevlar clutch and Band/New bearing/New drum/boost Valve/Corvette servo/New converter stock stall
B&M High capacity Transmission oil pan
Heavy duty Transmission cooler and temperature gauge
Air lift bag to help the rear spring.
Towing Package
3,23 rear end ratio (GU5)
Sony Head Unit with bluetooth phone and music streaming 4X50W
Focal component P165V30 for the front and Pioneer elipsoidal in stock location for the rear
Airco air recycle mods
Stock wheels and tyre size
2" class III Hitch

Thank you for your attention.

Welcome to GM Longroof Forum. These wagons are not common place in the US and damn right scarce on the Oregon coast. Yours must draw crowds in France. Post some photos when you can.

Welcome, what part of France are you from?
Take a picture at night so I can see how a wagon looks with yellow headlights!

Hi Sprocket,

I didn't have yellow headlights, because it was a French specificity only for the World War II 1939-45 to year 1993, after for the European community harmonies we used too the white headlights.

Thank you

Hi,

I forget, i'm from the south west of France (good whine and marvellous country), near Toulouse ( Toulouse is the Airbus company's city like Seatle for Boeing in USA) and about 200 miles from Bordeaux the world famous wine place.

Thanks a lot

Thats one of the cleanest 91 RMWs that I've seen anywhere. Was it always that well kept or have you been a fanatic/81x11 about your wagon.Once you meet Mike(81x11) you will understand my comment, yours is a beauty!

That's a great looking longroof! Welcome to the club! Smile

Are there places you can't drive because it's so much bigger than other cars over there? Did changing it to LPG change the sound of the exhaust note? Do you have pictures of the engine bay after the conversion? Too cool! Smile

Your RMW is as nice as any I have seen. We have wagon owners scattered throughout Europe. Glad you found us.
