| 91 tbi cars have a 700 r4,. they have a TV cable,.................(satellite is better J/K) throttle valve cable, it controls line pressure in the trans,. You might try adjusting yours first,.
I don't see the tv cable in the pic,?

| Where are you? If you get a trans from a junk yard car, at a pick-n-pull yard, it should cost you about $125, and if you take your old one back, they will give you the core charge back. The junk yards will usually give you a cross reference list, so you know what cars to pick from. The cable goes behind the large round part on the right side of the transmission. There appears to be a cable end in that area on the second picture. The governor cover (large dome with wire clip) on the left side of the trans is different from the 4L60. The cover on the 4L60 is held on by Loctite, and there is no wire clip on it. I would look for another trans. When you finally swap your trans, you should swap your VSS to the replacement trans, as long as the drive gear on the output shaft is the same size (color) as the one in your original trans. | |

| That's ok guys, it's still out there. I finally caught up with my son tonight (Steak n Shake has great $4.99 meals) and told him I'll have some new info for him soon. I was going to look up and see how to adjust the throttle valve cable. If that doesn't make a difference, than I think we will be looking for a replacement. Thanks for all the advice, it is greatly appreciated. | |
