Did the mechanical fan delete and wanted to test if single fan would kick on, as well as how well it would cool (as opposed to doing double fan set-up). Well, set the temperature diagnostics on the dash (#08), and she went to 202 Deg F with no fan action. Time to do some mutimeter testing I suppose, just not quite sure how to attack it...

Cheers,

Bud

I think it doesn't come on until 208 degrees.

It will not come on at 202, that is below operating temp for many cars. I can't remember what stock fan on temps are, but 212 and 230 something ring a bell.

I wouldn't sweat it. These engines run really good (and efficiently) at those temps. Also helps boil moisture out of the engine and trans.

Fantastic, thanks guys. I'll let it heat up to those temps to see what happens. I read a post somewhere that it should kick on at 197-98 and took that as fact...serves me right for not digging deeper.

Stand by for my results.

ok, great results!

202 Deg F. (exactly) = fan cycles on.

fan stays on until cooled to 195 Deg. F. then cycles off.

Repeated process for 4 cycles with exact same results.

Now, why it didn't kick on at 202 first time I did this, who knows? However, I find it kind of funny that I picked that point in my head to shut it down.
