Crying or Very sad . It all started when I was coming home from work yesterday somebody cuts out of the gas station to go south while I have no time to react I'm going north towards home I slam into her going 35-40mph jolting forward then back quick rushed to the hospital where they have x rays done on my chest which turn out negative.  I'm very sore today saw the car last night wanted to cry front ends crushed in two flat tires I beluve know of one 100% flat had trouble shifting out of park and front door was unopenable had to have a paramedic crank it open really hard.  Also there were fluids leaking from it pretty sure its totalled.  So frustrating someone can't look moves out into traffic, and bruises my chest slightly hurts my hack but very importantly ruins a beautiful 25 year old classic Oldsmobile.  Time to look for another wish me luck!

Dan, sorry to hear that news. Having seen that wagon at WF, I know she was a beauty and will be missed. The important thing for you and your family, other than you're going to be sore for awhile, you're OK. I know you'll be able to find another boxy wagon.

There has been a string of bad luck / accidents on this forum lately.

Dang, another one. Glad you weren't hurt though! These cars do a good job of protecting us from bad drivers.

Wow, Dan I'm really sorry to hear that. This has been quite a week with wagon mishaps on this forum. That Olds was a beautiful car, it's too bad it got wrecked. Hope you're OK though and no lasting effects.

As a motorcyclist, I'm used to hearing the excuse "I didn't see him!", but how the heck does anybody miss a full-size wagon???

I'm glad to hear you are reasonably unscathed (I hope the back injury is temporary!) I kind of hope the other driver is suffering some temporary pain too though. Like a good spanking to make the lesson memorable.

Dan, while your laying on the couch, take a look at these. I know this is a little premature, but it shows you they are out there and not very far away:

Dan,

Boy glad to see your OK. The wagon did its job for you. Glad to see you are in good shape, the wagon can be replaced. I hope they issues the other driver tickets, that would help to make it as clear cut as possible to the insurance companies. Good luck.

Tim

Thank you I think 3-5 days to get a police report is rediculous. But the waiting game is part of the process grrr. Thanks for all your support now to find another 77-96 b body wagon!

Sorry to hear of the loss of your wagon. That is (was) a gorgeous wagon. Glad to hear you're still alive though. My dad lost his cutlass cruiser in a similar manner (old lady ran a light and turned right in front of him and he drove through the side of her car.) The paramedics said that if he had been in a lesser built car, he wouldn't have made it.
Good thing GM knows how to build strong cars.

I had a similar incident years ago, except I did not have a wagon then. T-boned a Monte Carlo with a Buick Century. I would have had a lesser injury with a wagon. It was before air bags, and I missed the steering wheel by about a half inch. I had the painful bruise across my chest from the seat belt, and chipped a bone in my ankle, because I was standing on the brake and my foot slipped off. The ankle injury probably would have been avoided if I had a big wagon.

I am glad you are OK. It is good to hear that your wagon gave its life for you. You will heal. I hope you get a better one to replace it. Make the insurance pays you enough to replace it in the condition it was in. You should get a few thousand for pain and suffering as well. Be careful with lawyers, they will work on a contingency, and take all of your pain and suffering award. The lawyer will tell you an outrageous amount (I was quoted $25,000). I ended up with a $5,000 award for P&S, and when the lawyer was done, I ended up with $500. You may do better making a deal with the insurance company directly.

Sorry for the loss, but as long as you are okay is what matters. Stuff can always be replaced.

Still, she looked really nice and I'm partial to the Olds wagons. Sorry she met an undeserved end, but she did the job it was built for just in case.

Hopefully the company allows you to strip the car for panels or parts you might need for your caprice or the even better Olds wagon you find.
