smoothing the tailgate

i went to jarrods this weekend and brought my spare tailgate with me for pointers. the welding part took me forever and is very tedious. it came out pretty good. i still need to fill in some low spots. jarrod was working on johns car {big wagon guy} it looks great and jarrod has alot of work tied up in it. anyway here are some photos of my tailgate.

Very cool! Are you planning on putting the license plate in the rear bumper?

i have had a rear roll pan with the plate opening on the car for about 2yrs. so finnally i will get a tag down there


now i will have to put lights for the tag

You did a great job on the gate, and it should look really good when painted and installed.

So glad you got a taste of what it takes to do something like this. At least now you know what actually goes into doing the behind the scene stuff nobody gets to see. The agonizing hours and days it takes just complete one panel.

Very nice mod. I want to mod my box wagon the other way around. Smoothen the bumper and make a license plate opening in the tail gate.
