I picked up a 1996 Caprice Wagon today from a funeral home that went out of business in Troy, Michigan. I have long heard about this car but it took alittle time to track it down (thank you to my friend Eric who called around to 20 different funeral homes until he found the car for me!). It has under 17,000 original miles. It was built in September of 1995 and delivered to the funeral home on December 1, 1995. Any idea of how many 1996 Caprice wagons were black? Of the 638 listed as being built does anyone have a break down of the colors, options etc?

Run the VIN on Compnine, it will tell you exactly how many were black, and how many were the same. It won't be many...

Thank you, I put the Vin into Compnine and found the following information:  YK6 Identification (SEO) 21, Y1Q SEO -BLACK 10 ,  EXTERIOR COLOR, SECONDARY SPECIAL (01L) 20 ,  EXTERIOR COLOR, PRIMARY, SPECIAL OVERRIDE (01U) 20.  Can anyone here decode this for me or tell me what this means? I assume it means that 10 cars were built in black or is it 20 ?
