I will make a separate FS post as well since I'm on a tight timeline...

I've got a really nice front and rear swaybar set.  The front bar is Hellwig, and the rear is Hotchkis.  Yes, the impossible to get wagon rear sway bar.  They're clean, and include the mounting hardware.

The front and rear set sells for over $650 from Hotchkis:

http://www.hotchkis.net/product/1978-1996-gm-b-body-sport-sway-bars-wagon-from-hotchkis-sport-suspension/?searchby=part&partnoval=2206

No pics here, stupid photobucket.  I'll take some tomorrow when I drag them out for Jason (and I'll confirm the bar sizes, but they're big, I had considered keeping the front one for my SS).

Is that the famed wagon "super" bar - the 1.5"? Or the 1 3/8 bar I already have?

Somebody alert Crovo....

I think it's 1 3/8". I have another pic, but can't upload it. I'm not on facebook, so if Bill's looking, someone pass the message for me. I have an old cell number that I can try...

Just in case photobucket allows this one:

Alright cool. Was just making sure. I think, from the pics I've seen (very very few) the "super" bar was straight across.

GLWS/wagonfest delivery/etc.

Hope life's treating you well in the great white north, old buddy.

It's been mentioned before,.
Too stiff of a sway bar will make the car uncomfortable, especially on uneven road surfaces,   chassis needs to flex, springs need compression etc, if the bar is too stiff then that end of the car will slide rather than turn,
Most people buy a larger bar for their stock chassis for the bragging rights rather than the performance.
The large rear bar on the orange wagon makes the car very tail happy, it likes to slide the ass end out in a corner, it's predictable and fun, but i'm sure a smaller bar would make the car faster through corners,.
Setting up a street car as tight as a track car makes the car unpredictable on rough twisty roads,
It's a different story altogether on a nice flat track,.
but its cool for guys to brag about how much bigger theirs is,. Bars, headers, wheels,. All things that come to mind,.
There's a lot of theory out there to read up on, mixed in with internet peer pressure, but it takes 'seat' time to learn to actually drive a stock chassis to it's limits, and in my experience, a seasoned driver in a stock chassis will always out performs the novice that has everything 'bigger' ,...

I see the logic in that thinking. From personal experience. I thrashed a Viper in my then Fox body. Part of the reason Im sure was I was thinking,"You gotta drive it like you stole it." I guess he may have been thinking, how much is this going to cost if I break something? Twisted Evil For the record,Im guilty of throwing big fat bars on everything.

Thanks, nick. Good thing this is the regular wagon bar and not the big one. Also makes sense why hotchkis recommends a larger front bar than stock with this rear bar. This set covers all the bases.

Jay, you still got those pairs for sale? As you likely know by now, Jason was sick and was unable to attend WF 2017. I could be interested in both after having been Autocrossing Shammoo over WF weekend. Suffering lots of body roll.

Do I recall correctly that you are in Canada?

I've got the Hotchkis 2206R on my 1996 Caprice wagon. It's 1 3/8 inches, but it's also a hollow tube. The ride quality on my car seems unaffected, but roll in hard cornering is definitely reduced. Compared to the GOK (God-Only-Knows) bar on my 1996 Roadmaster, it's seems that using a bar designed for the specific car increases the chances of a better result. The Hotchis bar also tucks very nicely up and around all the other under-junk, and is near invisible from the rear. Not necessarily so with an adapted pick-and-pull bar designed for another application.

You pay more for the Hotchkis bar, but you'd just waste the money on food and shelter otherwise. If you pick up an inexpensive pair of square tube LCAs from Southside Machine, you can put the bar on yourself in about 20 minutes with no drilling or futzing.

Be prepared to wait up to 4 months if you order one from Summit Racing. It seems that Hotchkis makes them once a dozen or so orders pile up.

Did the Wagon roll bars end up finding a new home in NYS or are they still for sale?

I did not buy them. Might sell off Shammoo sometime this year. I have lost most interest on it.

I will send you an email Jason...Dave hope you stay with it and reignite your interest. As much as I like Shamoo I think you would be time/money ahead if you were to send it down the road and find yourself a clean LT1 Wagon to enjoy...or your welcome to haul it up to my place and we can have a mod day and LS the SOB for ya.

Update: I'm going to the US this weekend to pick up tires. I can ship the bars then.

$350 USD plus shipping for the pair.

I just joined the forum, and I'm interested in your sway bars.  Where are you located?  I'm wondering if I could pick them up, or whether you have already priced shipping costs.  Thanks, Mike

Hi Jason, thanks, I got your PM, but I can't reply to you via PM--not even after you contacted me--because of forum restrictions on new members. So please contact me again, with an email address or other way to contact you, and I'll get back to you. Thanks.
