Were all Roadmaster wagons "Limited" models?

Just that...I've ran across a RMW that is pretty stripped...leather delete, no auto headlamps, base steering wheel.

So, I was curious if there was a base Roadmaster wagon and a Limited.

My car was not. The limited had "upgraded" seats. But they do not support you at all, so most I have talked to prefer the non-limited seats. They were available in cloth or leather. I have the Bonneville seats in mine so I guess you could call it a mutt now.

Yes there was. Base wagons got "Estate Wagon" badges instead of "Limited" on the rear quarters.

No, not all were Limited models. I prefer the cloth Limited seats actually. (which I have) The leather ones usually get a hole in the side switchpanel area.

Limited seats can come with heat and power lumbar. They also come with tilting headrests.

You also can have memory seat (2 savable settings) with the Limited models.

But Tim is totally right about the Bonneville seats though..they are the best by far.

"Limited" trim was only available on the RMW for 1995 and 1996, prior to that, the Limited trim level was a sedan only option. Basically it's the seat type upgrade. In addition the the seat looking different it had a tilt headrest and lumbar adjustment. Brokecello's wagon has the oddball cloth "Limited" seats. It does seem that most RMW's were leather though with the base seats. I will say this about BigBlackBeaSSt's comment on the Limited seats giving worse support than the base ones. The Limited ones actually give wayyy better support than the base ones, but they don't seem as initially comfortable as the base seats. The first time I drove a Limited, it took me forever to find a so-so comfortable position. However I've driven both types on long drives and the Limited seat doesn't give me the back pains that the base one gives me after 2 hours. I think the lumbar sppt. has something to do with that. The same way you'd be more comfortable sitting in an office chair for 8 hours than an easy chair for 8 hours. Anyway, that's my take on it.

Oh yeah, I forgot, the Limited seats have power recline. Don't know if the regular seats could have that as an option or not...

You are most likely right, with Lumbar support they should be better. I have never spent any time in the limited seats. I would love to add lumbar and heat to my bonnies!!!

The Limited seats are taken from the Fleetwood and given a different stitching pattern. I find them very comfortable once you find the "right" spot for all the settings.

Along those lines. The Limited package included the updated seats but seat heaters and memory positions was optional on top of the Limited package. Memory seats were standard in the Fleetwood, can't remember if the heated seats were standard or not.

Heated seats were part of the broughm package on the Fleetwood.

I don't think memory seats were standard on the Fleetwood. Crovo's Cadirat V2 didn't have memory seats IIRC...

I also thought they had tilting headrests based on the 94 RMS I had, but the 96 black & tan does not have this feature.

My first 94 Fleetwood was a base model, and didn't have memory, heat, or lumbar. Also, the pleats went side to side, instead of front to back. The Fleetwood base model seats are not as comfortable on long hauls as my 94 Fleetwood Brougham seats. The 94 Brougham has heat, and 3 way lumbar. Those things were quite comfy. It also seems that the leather quality was different. It seems like the Brougham leather was softer, and more pliable.

Worth noting, is that the 91-94 Roadmaster Limited seats are MUCH different than the 95/96 limited seats. The 91-94 limited seats also had triple lumbar, and no heat.
