I'm looking for a rat-roddish, surferish, old schoolish hood ornament idea.

Allright guys - I'd like to hear all of your ideas for a hood ornament.

Here's what we're working with..... just a regular ole white caprice woody on Buick turbines (until I can get those rallye wheels offin Pat).

Here's what's going on with it this pretty soon. I have a surfboard that's gonna go on the roof - and I'm gonna add a hood scoop looking deal to the hood. Not like a big damn elephant snout though. Think like a bolt on cowl that's been installed backward.

I'll also be painting the grill body color white with the mesh blacked out.

So now that you have that trainwreck of a visual in your head, lets talk about hood ornaments.......

I'm not thinking bull horns. Ok, I mean - OF COURSE I'm thinking bull horns, just not right now on this car.

What I'm trying to come up with is a "different" kind of hood oranament. I'd like something bitchin that's either a hood ornament from an old classic car - preferably chevy (like the airplane lookin' one on like a 1951 chevy), something cool and not a hood ornament that I can easily make into a hood ornament - like a grenade only not a grenade, or some old classic aftermarket deal - because - lets face it - it's hard to go wrong with a big chrome nekkid lady leading your way to dropping off your kids at the Catholic school.

Drilling holes in the hood to make it happen isn't a concern, but overall costs are.

So, there. Clear as mud?

Let's brainstorm this thing guys - share even your most retarded ideas because you never know what will get somebody elses wheels turning. Just be aware though, that the big chrome nekkid lady one is in the lead.

Yea, I've been looking on Ebay a little here and there, but I'm gonna have 2 whole weeks of the bachelor life, which will be the perfect time to implement some of these ideas, which means right about NOW is the time to finger it out and pull the trigger.

I feel ya on the lighted indian heads, but I think those are a little more than I want to spend on a hood ornament that will be spending a LOT of time in college parking lots - in the #1 crime city in the nation.

I'm also digging the 56 chevy hood ornament that's like the airplane/bird thing too.

Man a buddy of mine gave me a surfer getting barreled off of an old surf topthy and I just tossed it as it was too gaudy, which is exactly where you want to go with this. it woulda been perfrect....damn.

I like those all too, but the hood countours wouldn't match up. Need a lil more halp now on the surfer dude though. Apparently, if you search the googlenets for "surfboard hood ornament", the first thing that pops up is this thread.
