Just thought I would share this because I was asked why it rust. These are possible causes of why moisture gets in. I would take the weekend and pull the rear roof molding and get your self some seam sealer or windshield urethane to fix these issue. Not all of them are going to be an issue on every wagon but a simple few hours over the weekend would probably be a safe bet to check your vehicle. There are quit possibly more reasons but these were easy to show you.

Another area to check is the base of the gate opening, especially on the driver's side.

My driver's side D pillar has some rust along side of the gate window just above the gate.

I used some roof sealer at the back of the channels, and painted over it.

This should come in handy, I should check for any holes just to be sure. There is a tiny rust spot in the paint, on the lower DPillar on mine.
