Fall in Texas is kinda funny. It's no longer in 100's, but instead is in the 90's and 80's, and unlike July/August, it cools down to the 70's and even 60's some evenings now. A lot of people call it our "Second Spring" because with the combination of cooler temps and spotty rain showers again, the grass and trees that turned brown over the summer in the heat are turning green again, and the flowers are blooming again. Spring 2 is my favorite time of the year here.
Along with our Second Spring come the biggest car shows and cruise-ins of the year. It's nice to be able to be OUTSIDE without having heatstroke again. Ha!
Anyway I've been trying to make as many of the local gatherings as I can starting last month. We've had the Roadmaster at all these, and the Citation X-11 and the '82 Camaro at a few ( both the Camaro and Citation are works-in-progress still).
Anyway here are some recent pics I thought you might like from some of the local gatherings. Fun Stuff!
Freddy's Car Show 9/27/14 - Pflugerville Texas - My son Eddie and the Roadmonster
I love this pic! Eddie mad at Dad because Dad is sitting in front of the Roadmaster and not beside it (not the proper way to display the car..hehe)...and Dad telling Eddie he's fine where he is, and Eddie giving ME the stink-eye because I won't MAKE Dad move! The stuff we have issues over, cracks me up! Hahaha, three generations of crazy Massey men together!!
Georgetown Texas Cruise-In 9/27/14, Tailgating with my son Tucker!
Cars and Coffee Austin - Sept 2014
Goergetown Tx Sat night weekly cruise-in
Another Sat Night Georgetown Tx Cruise-In
Benefit Car Show for my son's school band funds. Had all the Massey toys at this one. Fun, but it rained about two-hours in. Doh!
Hey the Roadmaster won it's first trophy. Sweet!
There is a big Cruise-In this Saturday night at the Top Notch Drive-In (Dazed and Confused fame) from dusk until 10pm. Going to try and make that in the Roady if the steering wheel and radio get done in time. Also the Leander Texas Cars and Coffee is this Sunday morning. Too much fun!
Gotta show these car folks what a REAL CLASSIC is! Keep taking your wagons out gang!
