PostSubject: LS swap questions    LS swap questions Icon_minitimeThu Dec 04, 2014 7:41 pm

Just got a LQ4 6.0 LS (Vortec) with 35k for my 1984 Caprice wagon.   I'm finding out there's not much info out there for 1977-90 B bodies.

Does anyone know if the Hedman Husler 45490 LS GM 1991-96 B-Body swap header will work in my '84?

Earlier 1991-96 had SBC 305's later LT1's ?  I've read that SBC and LT1 motor mounts are different and the motors are more forward or back?

91-93 B-bodies have 305 and 350 SBCs.

That's a shitload of money for headers. I have Pacesetter longtubes (70-2256) to use in my '92 wagon swap. Seen them work a few times for us, and really- the frames are the same, so they should work for your boxy, too.

The ones Sting mentioned should work even better with the earlier cars, because the earlier cars do not have all of the antilock brake junk in the way. Just be careful when installing the pipes with a column shift automatic trans, that you put the trans in first gear for clearance under the rotating arm of the trans linkage. A stick or console shift will not have the interference issue.

That's what I'm looking for!

Thank you.

I'm getting pretty stoked on this but for the weather... it's a little late in the seasons to start an outside project.

This might be the best reference. Loweredd put the same engine in his wagon:
