roof rack cross rails Empty
PostSubject: roof rack cross rails   roof rack cross rails Icon_minitimeSun Dec 14, 2014 10:34 pm

I tried to remove the cross rails on my Caprice and could only get one off. The front one will slide to the front end of the track and lift off but the rear one will slide to the front and will not lift out. Any suggestions? Thanks. Question

Look in the track. There is a piece held in by a torx screw. Take out that screw, remove the piece, and slide the rails out. Replace the piece and the screw.

Depending on what year the car is, there are a couple of attachment systems. There is a TORX screw held keeper at the rear of the tracks on some, and some are held by thumb screws. The ones with the TORX held keeper have flip up locks. The others do not. Depending on which one you have, the removal is slightly different.
