| Hi, My car is a 1984 Canadian built Caprice. I was told that Canadian 305 are non CCC engine. I'm not familiar with CCC. Engin has no SMOG pump, and passenger exhaust manifold is stamped "Canada" on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Bill Thanks for your input Bill. I thought CCC stands for "Computer Command Control". Anyway, is my carb computer controlled ? There are so many vacuum line & sensors I can't figure out if it is ... | |

Shnlla: You don't have a computer command engine. The carburetor on your engine is a mechanical Quadrajet. The first signs are that there is no blue connector bent at a 90 degree angle protruding through the top of the carburetor that would be for the solenoid that controls the metering rods. Second, there would be a 4 pin connector on the front of the carburetor at the left side near the throttle solenoid that would power the throttle position sensor. Canadian built engine probably did not have computer command systems if built for Canadian use and not for export to the U.S. I don't know why someone added a ground wire that runs from the right front carb mount bolt to the alternator bracket. CCC engines had ground straps at the back of the carb that ran from the engine block or firewall to the right rear mount bolt. I've got 5 of these GM B-body wagons all with Olds 307 engines and computer command. If your engine had a computer it would be located behind the right front kick panel and that panel would have a large rectangular bulge. In regards to the floor panels that you need I have 2 cars that I will part. One is an '88 Buick Electra Estate with a garnet interior and the other is an '87 Pontiac Safari with a fawn interior. I am willing to sell any part that you may need but shipping would be quite costly. If the cost isn't prohibitive you may want to look into purchasing an entire car for parts. By the way in California CARB stand for "California Air Research Board". Good luck. Joe PS: Send me a private message if you care to converse further.
