Rock Auto has two different AC Delco water pumps:
#252700 which costs $89
#251555 which costs $182
Which one is recommended?

Did you click info? Is one rebuilt, one new? Is one the incorrect F or Y body one?

Gates pump is popular on Rockauto, and I would personally use one, Gates makes quality parts and is, in many applications, an OEM supplier for GM and many other makes.

I went through this before, between 2 repairs I ended up buying one of each. The expensive one has a stamped steel impeller, the cheap one has a cast iron impeller. My guess is the iron would rust out quicker than a steel one.

Both the Gates and the AC Delco have stamped steel impellers.

The cast iron impeller will probably flow better before cavitation than the stamped one. Do you remember which seller had it?
