96 dash into a 94 RMW

Just getting a94 roadie wagon and i want to put a double din radio in it so lined up a a 96 dash panel in good shape. Is it really as simple as swapping the front panel to get the radio to fit, looks to me like the hvac controls are the same.

I'm on a PC now so easier to type. You will likely need to cut out the plastic behind the radio to get anything big in there. You will also need the 95/96 radio bracket, the plastic piece which screws into the dash to hold the radio. They are different between 94 and 95/96. I found one in a junkyard.

I was able to cut out my dash to make a double DIN fit, but I have a 96 dash waiting to be cleaned up and painted.

Lots of room back there for double dins. Might need to fiddle a bit though.
