| Are there some wagon roll pans considered better quality than others? Does the gell coat tend to crack over time? Fitment issues? Think I'll go this route for the Buick.

| For the most part the gellcoat does not crack unless you bump something, then it will spiderweb. Bell Tech used to make nice ones, and were about the best. Alday Customs on ebay still make them occasionally. I believe that ImpalaMikes may still make them as well. They are only available in fiberglass.
The issue you will find with the RM is the fitment of the tail lights. The roll pans are made for the Caprice tail lights. You can use OCC tail lights, but the RMs are short on the bottom, and you will have a 1/2 inch space between the tail light and the top of the roll pan. You could put the chrome corner on the roll pan and hopefully it will fill the gap. | |

| Good to know, thanks Fred. So the bumper reinforcement and it's supports must be removed when installing the roll pan? | |

| I think you have to remove the bumper shocks as well as the bumper. I did not test fit the bumper with them in place. They were already off of the car when I got it. I did put a piece of 2 inch steel angle stock across the frame ends. I would rather not have someone hit my gas tank in an accident. It also protects the foot well for the tailgunner seat. | |

| Good idea Fred. I like the look but not the thought of zero protection back there. Some is better than none. | |

| A piece of large section rectangular tubing could be used as well. I extended it about a foot beyond the frame ends. | |
