FLORIDA Wagonfest Poll 2016 - running until Jan 17th

Okay, so WF FL has been at the Spring Turkey Run every year and everyone loves it.  The issue this year is that they are
running on Easter Weekend which is an issue for a number of folks on here (and elsewhere).

That said,   Please vote on the attached poll and by next Sunday I will tally the votes and we will go from there.

If we choose to move the date, the location will change too as there isn't a car show the following weekend at Daytona Speedway.
Possible other locations are fairly wide open within an hour of Daytona


NOTE: As Chris pointed out April 2-3 is the following weekend! It won't let me edit the poll....

If I can add, please don't vote unless you are fairly sure you are going to attend.

So not the following weekend of April 2-3rd?

I voted, and there is no physical evidence, other than the smell of wet wool sweaters.

Sucks.... I'm going to be in Jax the week before Easter. I won't have my wagon with me though anywho.

Sprocket, if we do move it to another weekend, what place or show did you have in miind? As I had suggested to you via a pm the street rod nationals are the first weekend of April, in Tampa, and would be a huge show. But, as a group we couldn't enter the grounds because our cars are too new. That sucks, but the show itself would be a big one. While I certainly enjoy taking our cars into the show itself, for me seeing other cars at a big national show is just as, or more important, than taking our own cars onto the grounds.

I am flexible, but really like the speedway. I do have tentative plans for the first Saturday of April.

I like big shows too, however, then the event ceases to be a wagonfest and becomes a bunch of people going to a show together (if we can't all park together in the show).

I'm open for ideas. Perhaps there is a local show or cruise the following weekend (researching), or like the WF NY guys, meet at a park for an all day event (or a day ON Daytona Beach).

I do like the Speedway venue too, but if we do it that weekend, then I miss my OTHER big show which is British Car Show near me, where I show my Austin Healey every year, so all of us will be making sacrifices....

Either way we slice it, I think it's going to be a small showing this year....I'm in contact with the guys from Jax and Orlando INC that came last year as maybe there is a local show or cruise they know about if we choose not to do the Turkey Run...

I know-John, why not invite everyone to your house, and we will all stay and have a wagonfest with you! We can use your cool new motorhome for some people (my idea, first dibs) everyone else can sleep in their car. Your wife wouldn't mind 20 or so guys she doesn't know trashing your house, right? Anyone else think this is a good idea?

I can make either weekend work. However, I am more partial to the Speedway. For me, the big draw of driving down was the fact it was a combo wagonfest/huge car show. The excellent parking lot party that night was a plus too.

I'm looking at going, either weekend is fine with me.

I will be at the speedway as a vendor again. any other weekend is a no-go for me....... as I no longer own a wagon...

In todays society it seems to be perfectly acceptable,to be something youre not. Like the white woman who identifies herself as black. This would mean 2 people in our group,identify themselves as Dave,and have an attraction to sheep.... My what an advanced group we are. LOL

Im closing the voting and as you can see there is a slight nod to go with the time proven formula of the Spring Turkey run.

Sorry to those who can't make it, but the support for it moving isn't there. Go ahead and get your Turkey Run sign ups going, and Robert and I will work on the hotel part...

I did a vote and then found I was replying to the NY group ( sorry) I vote to leave Florida as it is at Daytona with the not so friendly date this year. I believe I will be forgiven for my actions. It may help I do not have any family close enough to anger.
