| I'm thinking that I would like to install courtesy lamps in my Caprice doors. I have not actually seen a vehicle with them, only pictures. Do the lamps have a forward-facing lens that illuminates the map pockets in the door panels? Is any of the necessary wiring present on cars without the lamps? Thanks. | |

| Yes and Yes. The front doors have small lenses in the door panels to light up the map pockets. The doors all have a plug in the middle under the panel to plug the lights into. | |

| I guess I should have made it clear that I'm talking about the lights that came factory in some sedans. My wagon has the block-off/ filler plates instead. | |

| They take minutes to do. The wiring is already in the door for them, pop off the "blank" corner piece, plug light in, snap light in place. Done. | |

| All you need is a pair of them in the right color for your car. What color is your interior? | |

| My interior is blue. I would like to have the lights in the front and rear doors. I believe they are wired through the door jamb switches to come on when the doors are opened , but do they also come on when the interior lights are turned on with the headlight switch? | |

| What color of blue?
I believe they only come on when you open the doors. | |

| They are on the same circuit as the dome lights so they will turn on with the headlight simmer switch as well. | |
