| So I am looking to buy a set of SS wheels with like new tires locally. The wheels have the usual peeling clear coat. So this got me thinking about doing something different. Instead of refinishing, or painting them black, why not paint them to mimic the wood grain on the side, while leaving the outer portion of the rim natural. This pic is the only thing on the interwebs that represents what I am looking to do. Looking for both opinions, and input. | |

I am not sure what that is. Is it something I can do myself? I will look it up thank you. I found a couple ways to paint it myself. I just got to practice on something else first. I figure some Rustoleum brown, and tan and brush it on, then use the following methods, followed by a wheel clear to protect it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGMNc9BZqK8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_fRpJUyBDghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKJhB3l-mhk - Bert Slater wrote:

Basicly everything that is black in your avatar pic in wood grain while keeping the outer rim and lip natural. | |

| Vinyl will accomplish what you want, look good, will be easy to apply, and won't be expensive. Additionally, there will be many choices of wood. | |
