| So my '94 DGGM 6-speed car is looking ragged these days. 8 Cleveland winters. It needs a repaint. I'm thinking of going silver over black with some patina work. Same for the wheels. Thoughts? Too Hot Roddish? Pic below is a scribble of what I'm thinking. It'd be a subtle effect. Note that I do NOT plan on doing this to the car pictured. Am I on drugs or would this look good? Or... am I on drugs AND would this look good? | |

| DGGM just looks too good. Patina might be cool on a plain white woodie though. | |

| I dunno... I'm kinda stuck on the black/gray thing. Maybe some kinda two tone or custom flames? I like this Roady: | |

| My '91 caprice wagon sorta has a patina look. The clearcoat has partially peeled on the hood and top. Plus the lower rear quarter has some wrinkles in it.

- You're going to get a lot of different opinions on this since "patina" is one of those things that elicits strong reactions on either side. For me, there are very few vehicles where I think it 'works'. The ratrod / steampunk scene is one of them, and the other is in the uber-rare unrestored classic market like
the Benz gullwing that was stored for the past 30 years.
For the rest of them, especially where the patina is faked, I think it falls flat. DGGM is a killer color - I'd just do it right and respray it. I second what was said here. Hands-down do it right. DGGM is a great color!

| The flames will instantly date the car and everyone will assume you're 60 years old.
I'd vote no to both, personally.

| I agree with Nick. Don't do the neighbors wife, or the patina. | |
