| Greetings from Houston! My name is Matt and I am the new owner of a 1993 Caprice Classic wagon. This is my first wagon to own and I'm ready to slowly/steadily tinker with it. Here's what I got: One owner garage kept car with 78,000 miles. Rust free from southeastern Kansas by way of some persistent craigslist hunting. It's classified as an LTZ, though as far as I can tell it's a base model, the only option being the 350 CI TBI engine. What I've done since owning it for 1 month & 2,000 miles: new heavy load tires, blower motor resistor, serpentine belt, oil & filter change, transmission fluid change. What I plan to do soon: new fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap & rotor, brake pads & rotors. Further down the road, I hope to fix window rollers on rear windows (get stuck when trying to roll up), repair or replace blower motor (noisy on high speed), new motor mounts. The plan for this wagon is to be my daily driver, road tripper and everything in between. This is somewhat of a nervous transition for me, as I am fulfilling a dream to drive only "older cars" without new-fangled technology. I am selling off my trusty 2008 Explorer that has carried me all over for 5 years and 90,00 miles. I look forward to discussions with y'all and hope I can contribute. | |
