1992 LO5 No Spark Empty
PostSubject: 1992 LO5 No Spark   1992 LO5 No Spark Icon_minitimeSun Nov 27, 2016 11:53 pm

Met a guy today on the side of the road trying to get spark from his 92' LO5. Told me that he already changed the coil/cap/rotor and still no luck.

Any ideas?

Ignition module in the distributor or spark module (minimal possibility) on the relay bracket at the right rear of the engine compartment. ECM could be toast (not likely), or the ignition switch may not be supplying power to the coil (volt meter to the pink wire). It could be a bad center coil wire, or not properly connected coil wire as well.

These are pretty stupid proof.

Ignition control module is toast. Really common on the TBI cars at these ages. Don't buy anything but the Delco one. The chinese ones suck.
