Well 22-years and 130K+ miles, and the damn GM Pass-Key system finally faulted in my Roadmaster Wagon. Still starts right up, but the Security light is on and won't go off. Came on today while running errands. Will first try my spare key this evening. If that doesn't do it will have to ohm the key and find the number to do the diode bypass, and if THAT doesn't do it...will just have to set the car on fire (or pull the bulb....) The JOY of Old Cars!

So my spare key didn't get the Security light out, so next try is doing the resistor mod. I pulled out the voltmeter and both my key pellets read 1.86, so I have a #7 pellet. Will have to dig up the correct resistor and jump the wire under the dash. Hope that does it. I sure wish there was a Radio Shack in every strip-mall like there was just a few years back.
