| Hi, I am looking for a drivers side front retractor in good condition(pulls in well and isn't frayed), and the female center buckle that it locks into. Both in beige. Thanks, Dan | |

| I have a driver's side retractor, but no belt or center receiver in tan.
You can move the passenger's belt to the driver's retractor until you can find a good belt. You could then install the donor belt on the passenger's side, or get a passenger's side belt and just install it. The retractors are side specific. You must pin the spool with a piece of coat hanger wire while the belt is off.
A month ago, I could have picked a center receiver for you. 94-96 tan interiors are all the same color.

| On my 96 the red driver's-side belt was frayed, and I swapped the entire assembly out with one from a '94 sedan. The 94 had the older-style all-metal buckle, not the later style with the interior-color plastic caps on it (that are prone to breaking off). I'm planning to swap the passenger side to the older style too...much better quality and I want them to match.
When doing the swap, I did not have to swap the lower buckle, the '96 style worked fine with the 94 belts.
I would think that tan would be fairly easy to find, with the only real concern being sun-fade or staining. I'm not sure but would guess a belt from a Chevy/Olds/Buick would fit from 1991-96, but the exact color would likely be 94-96, but possibly shared with Chevy and Buick.
Do keep in mind the buckle change in '96. I don't know if it was to save a buck, or due to a supplier change, but the interior colored, plastic-capped buckle trim is not as stout as the older all metal setup.
Happy Hunting!

| Hi guys, Thanks much for the input. Something broke inside the receiver and it still latches fine but is a bear to release. Takes two hands. I keep a pocket knife with me just in case. Dan | |

I did this, too. I liked the older metal buckles, even though they can get hot sometimes in the summer. I found a front set from a Caprice at the pick a part yard, 94 I think. They have worked fine for a few years now.
