I think it sits in a duct, and can be reached by dropping the hush-panel under the dash. I'm sure other members will chime in. Oh and look here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZ4FGrnmdc4 - I'm a great YouTube Mechanic! Good Luck! -Texas Mike

| It's the blower control module. Under the dash, passenger side. Mine just did the same thing recently | |

| The blower module is a lot more expensive than the resistor pack for the Caprice. I have a few used ones for sale, if you are interested.
It is beside the blower motor. 3-4 5.5 mm screws and a couple of connectors. You do have to stand on your head to get to it.

| OTAY!!! pulled resistor/control from other 98 RMW and the number and resistor were different. the other part number is 12368388 and the resistor is SJ41042. the 94/95's are different but appear interchangeable? Also the kick panel might not need to be removed. Thanks guys!

| The controllers from all years work (91-96). You can even use them from other GM car lines, if they bolt in, and have the same connectors. | |

| Just a follow upon this thread for anyone interested. My '96 RMW just had a blower motor control module failure and the blower stayed on with the ignition off. This module is fed from a hot 30 amp fuse and when it fails it keeps the blower on high speed regardless of the ATC mode or ignition off.
I found replacements for around $95 all over, but researching the part number on the module (Delco 16173860) I found the same module on Amazon for 1993-96 Jeep Grand Cherokee for $29.99 with free shipping. The only difference was the black plastic mounting face, which I swapped with my original face. The module connections were identical and the blower controls were restored with all fan speeds working perfectly.

| On my Chryslers with a similar setup, that transistor blows when the motor is old and starts sucking too much current. Unfortunately on these cars the aftermarket blower fan assembly is a poor match for the factory design and trades airflow for noise. If you blow another one, you may have to suck it up and install an aftermarket fan motor assembly. | |

| He never did say but apparently whatever he did fixed the problem. When I bought this rot box from him last year the AC worked perfectly. Heat rises though so all the cool air went through the nonexistent floor boards.
Not sure what the poor guy I unloaded this thing on ever did with it.
