OK.. so over the years I have collected the green silicone 91-93 9C1 heater and radiator hoses. I went to put the long heater hose on and it has the diverter valve in it. My mechanic friend who was helping me said it wouldn't work in my car because I don't have the connector to hook up to the diverter valve.

Can anyone tell me if I can find and install this connection? In the diagram below its marked with a 5. What is connection #5 and where is it coming from? Apparently some 91-93 B Body wagons had this valve as well.

I have included pictures of both versions.... one without the valve and one with the valve.

Here are the same two versions of the hoses except in black rubber... the close up picture of valve shows connection for #5...

I also wanted to ask.. if anyone has these hoses and the valve on their TBI wagon... can you please post pictures of the connections so I can see what they look like and where they go to?

Thanks a lot!

the early (91 maybe 92) tbi Buick/Olds wagon had the same valve for the climate control system (base AC unit didn't have it). I don't have a photo but had to replace one. It was connected via hose clamps and not molded in. A 91 Buick or Olds FSM should have alot more detail. Good luck.

I have a set of TBI 9C1 heater hoses and I don't recall that diverter on them. I can dig around for them and see for sure. I don't own a TBI car anymore so would be happy to sell them to you if you wanted.

I did just move alot of stuff around and recall seeing them so hopefully easy to locate in the black hole of my garage. If I don't report back, PM me to remind me as I have alot on my plate right now and may forget

Only the 91 had the diverter valve. There is a second vacuum hose in the harness to operate it.

The 92 and 93 cars should have the non diverter/restrictor hose set.

The quick release disconnects are probably the worst case of a misnomer known to man.
