| So cheap I couldn't say no. And yes, I got the wife's blessing. Without further ado, meet Goldilocks (named by the previous and only prior owner): Why is she so amazing? Look at the mileage: The car runs amazingly. It has long tube headers and a full exhaust and that's about all I can see so far. I brought it home tonight. There are a few minor issues to sort out, but nothing I can't handle. The customer who traded this in had this Corvette first, then bought a 2013 and put 140k miles on it, then a '16 and put 49k miles on that before trading the '02 and the '16 for a new '19. She wanted an auto car due to a knee surgery and the difficulty of driving stick. I want to be her when I grow up. And I'm excited to own one of my childhood dream cars. | |

| C5's are just fantastic cars! They are the GMT800 of Corvettes, they were just built well and run forever if you take care of them.
Congrats on the new toy! Stick too, awesome!
Be careful and have fun!

| Switched the passenger seat over to the driver's side so I can drive the car. The race seat is SO rock hard it was killing my back after about 10 minutes.
Also found a mint driver's seat on the forum, so that should be here next week. Then we can swap them both back where they belong and be all set!

| Done some maintenance. Driver's seat on the forum ended up being a scam, but that's what credit cards are for. Hope that guy gets hit by a truck, that gets hit by another truck, and makes the first truck roll off a cliff and explodes.
All that aside... received the money back and bought another seat from a reputable vendor. Cost me $80 more, but it will be here next week.
Changed the oil pressure sending unit, which requires removal of the intake (dry on LS engines, thankfully). They claim you can do it with the intake still on.... I call BS.
Also paid to have the harmonic balancer replaced, common failure on C5s, so now it doesn't squeak and I'm happy about that. While they had it, they replaced the speed sensor so my HUD and speedometer both work. All is well in C5 world.

| Had an AMAZING time at my first ever autocross event. I arrived late, because about halfway there I got a notification from the car that said to check the gauges, and I found some nice low voltage... my alternator died. So I pulled into the first parking lot I could actually reach, The car's voltage got so low all the essential functions were shut down. No cluster, no AC, no lights. Quick and dirty parking lot swap. Lucky it's right up top and easy to swap. Two bolts, rear stud, connector, and the tensioner to get the belt off and we were on our way. Fairly sure this is/was the original alternator. It lasted just over 265,900 miles. I'll take that. So I called around and ordered an alternator from the closest parts store, which was still over 30 minutes away... My friend Tim was the rescue squad and brought me the part and gave me a jump after the battery was plain flat. It started right up on the cables though, and we proceeded to the track! The later runs I did without the roof (was much better - the helmet hit the roof a couple of times because the stock seat is VERY high off the floor). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xtvxip3iz8&feature=share&fbclid=IwAR15zCTxi0p-Hac5_urcDMwVcoM190itPoq3cPn7i8W2aQ2-6ssofh6JmmcOh, and this happened on the way home, too: All in all, a very successful and fun day/night. Can't wait to go again! | |

| For 266K, that's a nice looking Vette. Paint looks great! I'm guessing your wagon has taken a back seat to this, understandable.
I take it that's Tim from up north MA / RI? How's he doing? Still have his car repair business? Tell him I was asking for him.

| Yeah he's doing well - closed the shop awhile ago.
Wagon has kind of taken a back seat, but I still mess with it from time to time. Currently down for an alternator problem (need to re-wire it and make it charge).
